Junior High Youth Pastor Northwest Church

Northwest Church in Fresno, California, is seeking their next Junior High Youth Pastor to lead them into a new season of life-giving ministry. The Junior High Youth Pastor is responsible for the spiritual development, management, leadership, and spiritual care of junior high students at Northwest Church. This individual will lead strategic and developmentally appropriate ministry for junior high students that advances the mission of our church.  This is a full-time paid position that includes medical and retirement benefits.

Responsibilities for Shepherding the Junior High Ministry 

• Weekly involvement in Junior High Ministry (Wednesday Nights.)
• Lead and provide pastoral oversight for Junior Highers and their families, encouraging them as the primary spiritual caregivers. 
• Lead and facilitate summer camps, winter retreats, and mission trips for Junior High in construct with the High School Pastor and Youth Staff.
• Plan and oversee activities that engage the lost, grow believers, and develop young leaders in partnership with the Pastor for Discipleship. 
• Provide and maintain a small group structure of age specific, gender specific small groups for students.
• Provide leadership for existing volunteer staff and serve to the strengths of leaders through leader meetings, retreats, and planning days.
• Provide sustainable and consistent pastoral care for Junior High volunteer staff. 
• Help to set a vision for the ministry as a whole and help the volunteer staff to understand their place in that vision.
• Implement a sustainable Spring, Fall, and Summer calendar that coheres with the wider church’s vision.
• Facilitate and grow the online presence of the Youth Ministry in age-appropriate ways to meet the needs of students.
